How to Find Your EPP / Authorization Code to Transfer Your Domain
Summary: A simple guide on obtaining your domain transfer code from your current provider so you can move it to Tecric.
Moving your domain name over to Tecric is simple, but to start the transfer, we need a special security code from your current domain registrar. This code is usually called an EPP Code, Authorization Code, or Auth-Info Key (or an IPS Tag if you have a UK domain like .co.uk).
How to Get Your Code
- Log in to the account where you originally bought your domain (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, 123 Reg).
- Navigate to your Domain Settings or Manage Domains section.
- Look for an option that says Domain Lock and switch it to Unlocked.
- Click on Request Auth Code or Transfer Out. Your provider will display the code on screen or email it to you.
What to Do Next
Once you have your code, send it directly to your Tecric setup team or paste it into your Domain Transfer request form. We will take over the rest of the technical setup to move your domain with zero downtime for your website or email.
